Art in Transit
There have been many customers coming to us to repair their art pieces which have been the latest victims of accidents in house moves and transit incidents.
So here are four essential steps to the correct packaging and safeguarding of art work.
- Inner protection
- Consider using foam, bubble wrap and corner protectors to form a foundation of protection for your piece.
- Outer protection
- Rigid and well-constructed cardboard boxes or folders of the correct size need to be used to ensure the artwork doesn’t have space to jostle around at all.
- Sealing and securing
- Packaging tape and/or stretch wrap is needed to secure the outer protective layer substantially.
- Fragile or Do Not Bend stickers need to appear on your package to give a concise instruction to the handlers.
May your artwork arrive safely!
