About Edwin G. Lucas

Edwin G Lucas (1911-1990)

Edwin Lucas was one of the few Scottish artists to experiment with Surrealism in the 1930s, with its influence evident in his unique works of the 1940s and 1950s. His work has been exhibited together with artists such as René Magritte, Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso.

The Colinton Arts Winter Exhibition contains a spectacular full-size limited edition Giclée print of one of Edwin’s best-known works. Painted in 1951, he exhibited it the same year with the title Peep! but later renamed it Taboo. This is the first time any of Edwin Lucas’ works have been available as a high quality print in a limited edition of 25.
