Richard is a self taught artist born and raised in New Zealand. He started out travelling when he was 18 and ended up in Edinburgh. Richard works mainly in birch plywood which helps him create intricate designs without the wood splitting or warping. His inspiration comes from the New Zealand Maori culture as well as Celtic design with a bit of fantasy added in as well.
