People, Places, Perspectives

October 7 – November 13, 2021

In People, Places, Perspectives, we celebrate fresh approaches by three outstanding Scottish artists. Each of our artists gifts us the ability to understand ourselves more, playing with light and lines of sight in new and informative ways.

For our Grand Reopening, local multi-disciplinary artist Alan Lennon explores the inner life of People through painting, sculpture and photomontage. Alan’s figures often avert their gaze, so strong are the emotions they strive to contain.

Chile-born Arie Vardi expresses the elemental form of nature through his vibrant west coast Places. Arie’s views transport us to landscapes transformed through colour and verdant in life.

Stephen Howard Harrison paints Edinburgh cityscape Perspectives full of warm summer colours and a fresh winter palette. Stephen’s city draws us in; onboarding us as passengers on a journey through his point of view, his explicit capture of a single moment in time.

We invite you to join us on a journey, to look on figures and forms with fresh eyes and we hope you agree that People, Places, Perspectives is a stunning start to our new gallery programme.
