Carolyn has a deep passion for painting blossoms and flowers in natural and botanical styles. Developing her own style of oil painting on gold leaf, Carolyn works on wooden panels and canvases that she gilds before painting. She is drawn to the beauty of the light on the gold leaf and the diaphanous qualities of flowers. In addition, the idea of flowers having a language  or symbolism has long been recognized in many countries, in mythologies, folklore, sonnets, and plays and this further inspires her paintings. Bringing these elements together she hopes to create little jewels that dazzle and surprise transforming in differing light conditions.
