Julie has been a professional artist for over thirty years. She began as an in-house artist for a mail order company in South Lanarkshire where she painted on collectable thimbles and trinkets and also did illustration artwork which was produced onto printed  labels, brochures and transfers. 

Since the company's closure in 2018, Julie has been painting in watercolours and more recently mixed media. Her work is exhibited in some Galleries in Scotland, charity exhibitions and the Royal Scottish Academy.

 “I mostly prefer to paint landscapes and old historic buildings using my own photos and sketches for reference. I like to add bits of old maps to them which gives them an added interest to their locations.”
